My Understanding
Constructive tool in the context of Information and Communication Technology refers to software or digital resources that facilitate the creation, manipulation, and construction of knowledge by learners. These tools are designed to support and enhance the active learning process, allowing students to engage deeply with content, collaborate with others, and develop critical thinking skills. Constructive tool empower learners to be active participants in their educational journey rather than passive recipients of information. Moreover, it allows learners to brainstorm and visualize the relationship of understanding of concepts, allows co-creation and sharing of ideas, and learners can showcase their talents or learning using various constructive platforms.
Some of the example of constructive tool include:
- LMS(VLE, google classroom,...)
- Concept mapping tool- allows users to brainstorm and visualize their understanding of relationships among a collection of concepts.
- DTP(Desktop Publishing)
- Multimedia tool
- Social networking sites
- Simulations (i.e., PhET simulations)
